  13.      It  is  good  to  see  someone  so  dedicated  to  Amiga software
  14. distribution  -  we  are  enclosing  a  couple  of  programs  here for
  15. inclusion in your library of "Fred Fish" public domain software disks.
  16. We have recently unveiled our latest project:  CygnusEd.  You may have
  17. heard of us on CompuServe as the people who developed the MandFXP Fast
  18. Fractal  graphics  program.   Well,  here  are demonstration copies of
  19. both.

  21.      Here is an incomplete list of CygnusEd's features:

  23.         1.  Multiple files can be edited simultaneously.
  24.         2.  Multiple views of the same file (co-operating).
  25.         3.  VERY! FAST display.
  26.         4.  Margins, word-wrap, status-lines, insert/overstrike,dual
  27.             keypad interpretations.
  28.         5.  EXTENSIVE online help.
  29.         6.  Intuitive commands, full menus, almost all commands can be
  30.             accessed via the keyboard.
  31.         7.  Soft scroll borders (adjustable).
  32.         8.  Many, many screen width, height variations, including
  33.             overscanning.
  34.         9.  Adjustable tab size, positioning, interpretation as
  35.             spaces or as tab characters.
  36.        10.  Choice of LAYOUT/STANDARD screen operation.
  37.        11.  Very fast search, replace (with wildcards!).
  38.        12.  Keyboard/menu MACROS.
  39.        13.  Storage of preferred settings, macros.
  40.        14.  Runs from CLI or WorkBench.
  41.        15.  Text formatting options.
  42.        16.  Direct ASCII value entry.
  43.        17.  Block/line/word cut/copy!
  44.        18.  Vertical (any rectangular region) block operations.
  45.        19.  Intuitive, flexible cursor operations from keyboard.

  47.        21.  Hidden escape codes option.
  48.        22.  Hardcoded function keys containing over 40 common escape
  49.             codes.
  50.        23.  Optional terminate and stay resident - reappear with single
  51.             keystroke.
  52.        24.  The priority of the CygnusEd editor can be set to any
  53.             value from -9 to +9 or can simply inherit the default
  54.             priority from the workbench or CLI it is run from.
  55.        25.  Video-display scrolling for ease of use in overscan
  56.             screens.
  57.        26.  Settings and macros can be stored in many different
  58.             "defaults" files which are loaded automatically when you
  59.             invoke CygnusEd.

  70.     CygnusEd  runs  on  512K,  single drive systems and fully supports
  71. extra memory and extra drives.

  73.     CygnusEd  costs $30.00 US and version 1.12 is available right now.
  74. Updates  are  done  at  cost as a service to the customer.  The update
  75. cost  for  CygnusEd will be $10.00 US.  This includes an update to the
  76. manual.

  78.     We  encourage  you  to  distribute this demonstration copy far and
  79. wide,  you  can  include  it in your club library and distribute it to
  80. your  members.  The only difference between the demonstration copy and
  81. the real copy is that the demo will not allow you to save files larger
  82. than  5K in size (but you can still load them and edit in them and try
  83. its  performance on large files).

  96.     Programmers who are interested in using the file requester used in
  97. CygnusEd  can  write  to  the  author,  Colin  Fox, care of CygnusSoft
  98. Software.  Colin charges $10.00 for the source and object code, please
  99. enclose  an extra  $5.00  to  cover  for  his  costs.   An  additional
  100. requirement  is that he would like a copy of any programs that use his
  101. file requester.
